The Street Photography, Light in the City workshop is a two-day immersive experience, designed for photographers who want to sharpen their ability to see and capture light in an urban environment. Street and documentary photography demand an intuitive approach, and this workshop will push you to observe more deeply, anticipate moments, and master the art of using light, shadow, and composition to create compelling images. Under the guidance of an experienced photographer, you will learn how to take full control of your camera, transforming it from an automatic device into a manual tool that reacts precisely to your vision. Spot metering will be at the heart of our approach, helping you expose your images with accuracy and confidence, regardless of lighting conditions. Whether in bright sunlight or moody overcast skies, you’ll discover how to embrace natural light to enhance your photographs. Over the two days, we will move through the city, scouting locations, analyzing compositions, and experimenting with repetition and rhythm in the urban landscape. You will learn to balance instinct with technique, refining your timing to capture decisive moments as they unfold. Mistakes are part of the process, and rather than avoiding them, you will learn how to adapt and turn them into opportunities. The workshop will also explore the psychology of street photography: when to engage with subjects, when to remain invisible, and how to build confidence while shooting in public spaces.
