During this two-day workshop, you will learn how to build a visual story with photography under the guidance of curator Marc Prüst. We cover different techniques and visual structures, and go deeper into the question of how to create the right images to convey your story convincingly. You will be introduced to the rules of selection and sequencing and discover how to translate a concept into a coherent photo series. On the first day, you will get to work with both theory and a practical assignment. The second day is all about selecting, refining and reviewing the images created. This workshop is perfect for photographers who want to learn how to create a fascinating and coherent story with image, and offers different narrative forms that you can use for all your future photo projects.

Marc Prüst

Marc Prüst is a curator and researcher specializing in photography. His expertise lies in the field of photographic stories and the functioning of the photographic sector. Prüst was artistic director of festivals in France, Ghana and Nigeria, curating exhibitions for museums and festivals in a.o. The Netherlands, Italy and the United States. In addition, he worked on photo books with photographers from countries such as the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany and the Netherlands. He is currently doing doctoral research at the University of Groningen on the photographic industry and teaches at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest.
